Bodies By Design hires only the finest fitness coaches who have to met our strict education and experience requirements. They are your personal trainer that not only encourage and guide you through the physical exercises, they manage your progress and teach you the lifestyle changing techniques that are necessary for extended results. Each of our fitness coaches brings a unique set of skills to complement each other and provide a balanced program for every client. They have all endured a rigorous screening process and education evaluation, which ensures you are working with the most informed and educated professionals in the business.

Unlike gyms which may only require a three-day certification class, our fitness coaches must complete a six month to one-year evaluation even after their certification, before they can be crowned a Bodies by Design Fitness Coach.

Trainer – Eric Mabie (President)Fitness Coach Palm Harbor Eric

Eric Mabie is the President and Founder of Bodies by Design.
An entrepreneur and lifelong student of health and fitness, Eric earned a Fitness Professional Certificate from St. Petersburg College and holds numerous certifications in Personal Training, Weight Training, and Lifestyle Coaching.
Eric initially developed the Bodies by Design training philosophy and advanced training methods used at the International Performance Institute (now IMG, a division of the Bollettieri Sports Academy in Bradenton, FL) which is utilized almost exclusively by professional athletes.

Additionally, Eric is a Certified CHEK Practitioner.  Having studied with the C.H.E.K. Institute for over 10 years, Eric embodies and applies a holistic approach to meeting and exceeding all of his clients’ goals.

With over 17 years of experience and an ongoing pursuit of knowledge, Eric continues to reach new levels of health and fitness for his clients and himself.  Eric thrives on sharing his unique insights and experiences with others, and is an active educator in his community.  His reputation for excellence has drawn invitations to lecture for corporations such as Wells Fargo and Mease Trinity Medical Center, and a number of community organizations and schools.

His total commitment to helping his clients is what has made Bodies by Design one of the most successful fitness companies in Florida.

In addition to his dedication to fitness, Eric has also founded a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization called a New World of Hope.  This organization helps to build care centers for children who have been orphaned by the AIDS pandemic in Africa.

Fitness Director – Jim WynnFitness Coach Palm Harbor Jim

A native to Tampa, Jim has always included fitness as part of his life by participating in competitive soccer, tennis, and skating. He is also a multidisciplinary martial artist with a Black Belt in Karate and Tae Kwon Do.
Jim has built an extensive background in exercise and nutrition. He is a certified fitness coach with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, the American Karate Schools System, and has completed courses of study for the American Heart Association. He has completed the University of Florida “School of Nutrition” course as well as the Science of Nutrition curriculum from St. Petersburg College.

While serving in the United States Air Force, he earned the position of Group Cycle Ergometry Evaluator and Fitness Program Monitor to the commander. Some of his military decorations/awards include, The Air Force Achievement Medal, The Air Force Commendation Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, The NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, and the Non Commissioned Officers Military Excellence Award.

Jim Wynn conducts up to 90 sessions per week, and his meticulous attention to detail shows up in his clients’ exemplary results.

Medical Nutrition Director – Dr Sheila Dean

SHEILA DEAN, DSc,RD,LD,CCN,CDE,IFMCP is a registered and licensed dietitian nutritionist, board certified integrative and functional medicine practitioner, certified diabetes educator and exercise physiologist. She was the owner of Palm Harbor Center for Health & Healing, an integrative and functional medicine based private practice and wellness center in Palm Harbor, Florida. A published author, national speaker and media spokesperson, Dr. Dean has taught nutrition science for over 20 years as adjunct professor at the University of Tampa, University of South Florida Morsani School of Medicine, Maryland University of Integrative Health, Schiller International University, Saybrook University and Saint Petersburg College.

She is currently the co-founder of IFNA™, the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy, (www.IFNAcademy.com) a comprehensive online training and mentoring program designed to teach health care practitioners how to seek the true root causes of disease to restore optimal health and function and ultimately transform the practice of nutrition using the most effective integrative and functional nutrition diagnostic tools and treatment protocols for preventing and reversing chronic illness.

 

Trainer – Beth PikeFitness Coach Palm Harbor Beth

Beth Pike, PTA, C.S.T.S. has received a B.S. from Ohio State University and an A.S. from St. Petersburg College as a physical therapist assistant. She has over 10 years experience as a therapist working at a physical therapy clinic and conducts orthopedic outpatient care as well.She is trained in many areas including neuromuscular re-education, balance disorders and strength training. Beth’s vast fitness coach experience in rehabilitation and fitness training allow her to safely and effectively work with clients of all ages and abilities.

Trainer – Jessica Mabie

Jessica Mabie has been a certified Fitness Coach since 1996. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Wellness Leadership in 1999 from the University of South Florida, and continues her education by attending conferences and keeping current with the latest developments in the field. These accomplishments ensure that her clients receive the safest, most effective means of achieving

their fitness goals with an eye to overall wellness.

While coaching at the Bolletieri Sports Academy, she helped design and implement strength, endurance and flexibility programs for athletes at all levels: novice through professional. She also educated the athletes on the importance of achieving optimal performance through sound nutrition.
She continues to foster the fitness goals of children, teens, adults and seniors by stressing the importance of improved muscle-to-fat ratio, posture, and sports performance, as well as providing them with enhanced feelings of power, health, and self-esteem.
Jessica’s vast experience working with people with conditions such as: arthritis, depression, diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol, lower back pain, multiple sclerosis, obesity, and osteoarthritis, make her uniquely qualified to help a wide range of people regain a healthy level of activity.

 

Trainer – Cindy MedvicFitness Coach Palm Harbor Cindy

Cindy Medvic was born and raised in California. She and her husband Ed have two
grown children, Derek and Shannon. Cindy and her husband moved to Florida in 2004 and began to train with Bodies by Design shortly thereafter.
She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Administration from Sacramento State University. Her love of fitness coaching and working with children has inspired her to be a gymnastics coach for 3 years with the Team USA gymnastics program.
In addition to being certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, Cindy studied yoga instructors training for 6 years with Eric Shiffmann and Karin O’Banon. She is an avid runner, tennis player and fitness enthusiast.
